Kitchen Monkey Business

My Luxury Basement - Mon, 07/20/2009 - 19:29

This is a picture of a Kitchen remodel we just completed. What you are looking at is a separation of the vent that sends carbon-monoxide out safely. The clients had their roof re-done about five months earlier. When this was done some how the b-vent came lose and was not venting this dangers gas properly. We of course fixed the problem and now the owners are very happy with the job we completed for them, below are the before and after pictures of the project.  It’s  very important to hire the right firm for you home improvement project.

Basement Costs

My Luxury Basement - Fri, 07/17/2009 - 11:42

Basement costs  what a loaded question.  If you put ten estimators in a room you will get ten different answers.  Why several reasons. Assuming you get competent bids, all companies have different overhead structure, differentprofit objectives, different vendor relationships.

Profit is the hedge against risk or a reward for a job well done.

Construction is a business fraught with lots of risk and moderate reward, only the bravest survive. More tomorrow.

If you are considering a basement remodel or any remodel there are some questions you need to ask yourself as well as some very real facts you need to consider -

Permit application volume is down. It’s a great time to get through the local red tape quickly.

*The cost of money is at a 53-year low, creating an opportunity to lock in now to great rates that will still be in place when the home is finished.

You’ve all heard the adage over and over, but it’s true, there has never been a better time to build a custom home or finish your basement.

I can see the market starting to heat up. Our phone is ringing off the hook, and folks are ready to move while the conditions favor them. In every downturn, there is an up-cycle that follows. Don’t miss this opportunity in the market and the economy to raise the value of your home.

Top 5 Home Improvement Mother’s Day Gifts

My Luxury Basement - Tue, 05/05/2009 - 09:12

Don’t forget this Sunday is Mother’s Day. Typical gifts include gift certificates, flowers, candy, candles, etc. But what does she really want? Something for the home. Something fixed up in the home is more like it. Now you can kill two birds with one stone on Mother’s Day by giving her something she REALLY wants and increasing the value of your investment at the same time. Here is a list of top 10 Home Improvement Mother’s Day Gifts.

1. Finished Basement – whether it’s for a craft room, storage, home office, entertainment or a place to send the kids to, this is by far the best gift.

2. Deck/Outdoor Room – A deck is great for relaxing, bbq’s, reading, talking and it makes the home look really great.

3. Whole House Remodel – this is a dream but still an option if you have been thinking about it.

4. Home Theater Room – so she can watch Oprah in style. Football games would be more fun too.

5. Kitchen – she would be a kid in a candy store with all the selections – flooring, counters, cabinets

We can assist with all of these “gift” ideas. Email or call today – 303-688-5556.
